What stays on your device

FATE uses browser local storage for things such as your dice and coin tray, number and chance settings, picker text, theme, named sessions and recent history. This information is used to provide the features you ask for and is not uploaded to FATE // LAB or sent to Google Analytics. If browser storage is unavailable, FATE continues in memory for that visit.

Website delivery and security

playfatelab.com is delivered through Cloudflare. Like any web host, reverse proxy or security provider, Cloudflare receives technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site, which can include IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps and HTTP headers. We use this processing to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service, not to build advertising profiles.

Optional analytics

If you accept Analytics, FATE uses Cloudflare Zaraz as the collection and control layer and Google Analytics 4 as the analytics destination. Google Analytics JavaScript is not loaded directly on the site. Zaraz forwards analytics from Cloudflare's edge and is configured to hide the originating IP address and remove URL query strings.

Analytics is limited to page usage and named product actions such as dice_roll, coin_flip, number_generate, chance_test, picker_pick, preset use, repeats and history exports. We may send non-content counts such as the number of dice, coins, choices or exported entries. We do not send the random result, picker text, chosen name/item, session name or history contents.

We do not use Google Ads, remarketing audiences or advertising personalisation for FATE // LAB.

Why we process information

Optional analytics is based on your consent. You can reject it or withdraw it at any time using Cookie settings below. Website delivery, security and abuse prevention are used to provide and protect the service.

Who receives information

Cloudflare provides DNS, proxying, security, Zaraz and consent management. If you accept Analytics, limited analytics information is also sent to Google Analytics. These providers may process data in countries outside the UK using the safeguards available under their respective data-protection arrangements.

Retention

FATE's local browser data remains on your device until you remove it through the app, clear site data or your browser removes it. The Zaraz consent cookie remembers your analytics choice until it expires or you clear it. When the dedicated GA4 property is connected, event-level and user-level retention will be set to two months; Google states that this setting does not remove historical standard aggregated reports.

Your rights

Depending on the information involved and the applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because FATE deliberately avoids accounts and does not upload your local result/history data, we may have little or no information that can be linked back to you.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how personal data is handled.
